LEARNbyDESIGN offers comprehensive custom consulting strategies and support for all learners and their families.

Ava Locks is a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher who enjoys working with students in all subject areas. She has experience providing early intervention services for children with autism and individualized learning style instruction in private practice. She has worked in public and private schools, delivering instruction and programs for children from early childhood through high school. Ava has served as a guest teacher and critic for colleges and schools, offering her experience as a community-based educator and designer.

In addition to instruction, Ava has developed and written curricula for a variety of educational organizations. She enjoys the opportunities they present for educational outreach within her community. In her master's program, Ava authored a thesis on the importance of community-based learning and the community's enriching opportunities to enhance a curriculum. It is through her research and writing that Ava's philosophy of understanding children's varied learning styles was developed. She can now put this understanding into practice when working with students. When working with individuals and classroom students, Ava is delighted to help students discover their learning styles to build confidence and comfort in their learning.
